Then my dad arrived with our flowers!

Then my dad arrived with the flowers!

Ashlyn was delightted but not sure what she had to do with them.

We were getting ready next to the main farm house in one of the Asseegaai Trails B&B units, but next door was the place we were to spend our first night in.

To Heather's delight it was a netted bed with lovely wooden head board and big cream cushions, so she had us all pile on for some fantastic shots.

As you can see the effect was great, so here are a few of my favorites.

And then we were off to the church!

Lets go back

Now that I have my "official photographs" on hand, I can go back and show you snippets of our day.

First there was the job of gettting ready. Due to being VERY organised, we girls were in fact free to sit in the sun and relax and let the kids run around ing the garden and have a snack, for about 2 hours before we even had to think about putting on our make up! It was great to have so much time and be so relaxed.

I had been warned that if I was going to be late then I was definately not getting married. Well as it turns out, by the time all four of us were dressed and ready to go, Matthew was still wrestling a pig onto the spit!

Our photographer, the very talented and fantastic, Heather Jackson, from PE, arrived to tell us she had just seen Matthew dressed in shorts and a T shirt, "braaing"! back at the venue, before she came up to us. To see more of heather's work please go to her site at: http://www.heatherjacksonphotography.co.za/

Here are a few of her "getting ready" pictures..

Maxi had to be buttoned up!

And the girls got their finishing touches, bows tied and butterflies secured.

It was really like being a princess.

Ashlyn's mother tells me that her dress is a favorite and gets shown off to everyone who will look!

Then we got to pose, a bit, in the garden for some lovely shots.

Getting ready was fun!

Married life is great!

Married life is great. Though, truthfully it's not an awful lot different than single life with a partner. There is, of course, the benefit of having someone to be 'in the thick of things' with.
Having a partner makes you stronger, smarter and more invincible.... after all, there must be some truth in the "two-heads-are-better-than-one" cliche...

As you can see - we are happy - we certainly look it!

The great adventure!

This is the beginning of our great adventure!
Yes welll - that's how I see it anyway. Matthew and I were married at Assegaai Trails, Salem, on the 9th of September 2006.
The wedding was great, very relaxed and with lovely weather. I'll be adding pictures as I go.
Please remember (for those family members overseas esp.) all the pictures taken can be sent to you digitally on request, these versions aren't good enough quality for making print though.

The day was amazing, though it went by very fast and we can barely remember a thing! Fortunately I have talented relatives and friends that have taken enormous bunches of pictures and video. These first four are a selection from Shan Fox, from PE.

thanks so much Shan.

Sitting in the Daisies!

The surrounding fields were covered in daisies.

there were gorgeous fig trees with swings.
